Job Title: Lead Hand, Tilesetters

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Hand, Tilesetters to join our team at Buildtech Contracting Inc.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of tile setters, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and meeting project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of tile setters to prepare, measure, and mark surfaces for tile installation
  • Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using hand trowels
  • Prepare rough plans and sketches for tile installation
  • Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base
  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure a professional finish
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
  • Supervise other workers to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
  • Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite
  • Estimate costs and materials for tile installation projects
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
  • Install tile strips
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in tile setting
  • Commercial and residential tile installation experience
  • Ability to lead a team and supervise other workers
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials
Work Environment
