About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Westhill Dental. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation
    • Prepare patients for dental examinations by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring they are comfortable and relaxed.
    • Assist dentists and hygienists during procedures by handing them instruments, suctioning, and providing support as needed.
  • Instrument Maintenance
    • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
    • Maintain a clean and organized instrument room, ensuring all instruments are properly stored and easily accessible.
  • Administrative Support
    • Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information.
    • Perform reception and clerical duties, including answering phones, responding to patient inquiries, and handling correspondence.
  • Supply Management
    • Order and maintain dental and office supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are available and in stock.
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels, reporting any discrepancies or concerns to management.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, and other support staff to ensure seamless patient care and efficient practice operations.
    • Provide support and assistance to colleagues as needed, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • Experience in a dental setting is an asset, but not required.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
