Job Summary:
Spectrum Plastics Group, A DuPont Business is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our extrusion blown film plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections of machinery to ensure all safeties are in place and functional.
- Troubleshoot and maintain all process and production equipment as well as general building maintenance.
- Repair and maintain plant processes, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Design, implement and manage preventative maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment.
- Install new equipment according to manufacturer specifications and management requirements.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Work directly with engineers, machinists, assemblers, & machine operators.
- Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Excellent Electrical aptitude including control systems.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Familiar with electrical aspects and troubleshooting electronics.
- Ability to read blueprints and assembly instructions provided by manufacturers.
- Read, write, and understand English.
- Read interpret instructional electrical, hydraulic, and process systems drawings.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Prior background in manufacturing maintenance and plastics manufacturing a strong plus.
- Good troubleshooting skills coupled with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and control systems.
- Self-starter with willingness to perform other related duties as required.
- Able to work overtime as required.
Work Experience:
- Industrial maintenance or a similar environment performing comparable tasks as required for this position.
Education:
Red Seal Electrician or Certified Industrial Electrician a must. Red Seal Millwright a plus. Registered qualifications to perform electrical work in British Columbia.
