Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Restaurant Server to join our team at Okanagan College. As a Restaurant Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a safe and sanitary environment, and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized restaurant environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Prepare for food and beverage service by ensuring reservations are maintained, trays and utensils are full, and the bar area is prepared.
  • Perform restaurant duties such as greeting and seating customers, taking and serving food orders, and preparing and serving alcoholic drinks.
  • Provide cashier duties, including ensuring an adequate float, taking in cash and giving change, and completing accurate sale reports.
  • Perform other related duties as required, such as bussing dishes and wiping and cleaning tables, dispensers, and coffee machines.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, plus up to and including one-year post-secondary training (Office Administration).
  • Food Safe Certificate and Serving It Right Certificate.
  • Up to and including 6 months related food and beverage experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Able to perform work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to maintain effective interpersonal relationships with staff, students, clients, and the general public to ensure optimum customer service levels.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
