Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and off-loading machines with fabric, thread, or other textile products
  • Cutting fabric or layers of fabric to specifications using various cutting techniques
  • Setting up, maintaining, and making minor repairs to machinery to ensure optimal performance
  • Pushing carts, trucks, or cans of fibers from one work area to another
  • Cleaning machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
  • Assisting machine operators and other textile workers as required to meet production goals
  • Selecting leather and cutting dies to meet specific product requirements
  • Cutting and preparing fabric, leather, and fur samples for quality control
  • Adjusting cutting techniques to accommodate different types of fabric and garment styles
  • Operating clicker or punch press to stretch leather and other materials
  • Adjusting rotation and mixing action of vats to ensure optimal processing of hides and skins
  • Examining products for defects to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Operating various machines to bleach, dye, coat, or finish fabric, thread, yarn, or other textile products
  • Preparing solutions to clean, dehair, pickle, oil, or tan hides and skins
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Working in a noisy and dusty environment
  • Handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods
  • Repetitive tasks and physical demands require attention to safety and ergonomics
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in textile manufacturing or a related field
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing production demands
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment
