About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Wildlife Biologist to join our team at Woodlands North Inc. in Edmonton and Whitecourt. This is a full-time permanent position focused on inventory, assessments, and ecological restorations in the energy and forest sectors throughout Alberta.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct safe and efficient project work, including forest inventory, ecological site assessments, wildlife inventories, and roadway/stream crossing assessments and restorations.
  • Manage project deliverables and working relationships with Woodlands' peers, management, and clients.
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
  • Assist the Operation Manager with project scheduling and management.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience in wildlife sweeps, wetland assessments, watercourse crossing assessments, fish identification, fishery habitat classification, plant identification, soil classification, ecological restorations, field data collection, and reporting.
  • University Degree or technical diploma in Environmental, Earth Science, Forestry, Biology, or Engineering.
  • Professional registration or eligibility in one of Alberta's Professional Regulatory Organizations.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to maintain a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Ability to demonstrate a safety and customer service focus.
