About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Wildlife Biologist to join our team at Woodlands North Inc. in Edmonton and Whitecourt. This is a full-time permanent position that involves conducting inventory assessments and ecological restorations in the energy and forest sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct safe and efficient project work, including forest inventory, ecological site assessments, and wildlife inventories.
  • Manage project deliverables and working relationships with Woodlands peers, management, and clients.
  • Initiate, develop, and execute continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
  • Assist the Operation Manager with the scheduling and management of projects.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience in wildlife sweeps, wetland assessments, watercourse crossing assessments, fish identification, fishery habitat classification, plant identification, soil classification, ecological restorations, field data collection, and reporting.
  • Experience in remote field work and working around big yellow equipment is an asset.
  • University degree or technical diploma in Environmental, Earth Science, Forestry, Biology, or Engineering is required.
  • Professional registration or eligibility in one of Alberta's Professional Regulatory Organizations is required.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years is required.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills are required.
  • Ability to maintain a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract is required.
  • Ability to demonstrate a safety and customer service focus is required.
