Job Summary:

As an Overhead Door Service Technician at Northern Dock Systems, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of loading dock and overhead door equipment. This is a full-time position that requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair loading dock and overhead door equipment, including doors, levelers, and seals.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating moving parts and inspecting equipment for damage or wear.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, using technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Work with coordinators to obtain parts and schedule repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work truck, ensuring that all necessary tools and equipment are readily available.
  • Supervise and train apprentices, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in the overhead door and loading dock industry.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to complete daily work tasks.
