Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice to join our team at Cooper Equipment Rentals. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of construction equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and diagnose equipment malfunctions to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures
  • Collaborate with senior technicians to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in heavy duty mechanics or a related field
  • Registered 2nd or 3rd year apprentice or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
