Director of Technology and Information Services

New Westminster Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Technology and Information Services. This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to join our team and contribute to the district's mission to provide innovative and inclusive learning environments.
About the RoleThe Director of Technology and Information Services will be responsible for developing and implementing the district's technology and information services strategy. This includes designing and delivering a cost-effective and reliable infrastructure and architecture that supports existing and emerging applications. The successful candidate will work closely with system leaders, senior staff, stakeholders, and information technology vendors to ensure that the district's technology needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategic Information Technology Plan for all users of the District
- Establish the direction for technology in the District
- Supervise and support the work of all Technology and Information Services staff
- Manage the Information Technology and Information Services budget and expenditures
- Negotiate with software and hardware vendors on pricing and terms and conditions for major acquisitions and renewals of software and hardware contracts
- Research and implement leading edge educational software and technologies to support student needs
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant post-secondary education, or equivalent of education and work experience. They will also have considerable experience and success with integrating new technologies and methodologies into a large organization.
