Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Accounting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to junior staff members while ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide expert advice and training to junior accounting staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure the efficient operation of accounting equipment and software to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Problem-Solving: Resolve complex work-related problems and provide creative solutions to improve workflow and productivity.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and quality of financial transactions.
  • Team Management: Supervise and coordinate the work of 3-4 team members, including accounting clerks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role with a proven track record of success.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Security Clearance: Basic security clearance required.

  • Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
