About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Apparel Designer to join our team at Arc'teryx Limited. As a Senior Apparel Designer – Women's Hike, you will be responsible for designing innovative and expressive apparel solutions that meet the evolving needs of our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop innovative apparel designs that address the needs of our athletes and guests
  • Create expression in key concepts through silhouette and fit grounded in function
  • Provide solutions that expand beyond original intent to provide style
  • Partner with our developers to drive the research and development of innovative technologies, including yarns and materials, as well as fit, pattern, and construction techniques for all product categories
  • Collaborate closely with other Designers to bring new concepts to the range
  • Maintain continuous awareness of industry trends and collaborate with Arc'teryx athletes and other industry representatives to exceed our guests' evolving needs
  • Present at internal meetings, design reviews, and seasonal stage gates, annual seasonal handoffs, and other product meetings
  • Attend tradeshows and company events as required
  • Visit sourcing and development vendors as required
Future Opportunities
  • Create an innovative and holistic approach to apparel that encompasses yarn and material innovation, construction innovation, silhouette, and fit approach
  • Partner with our developers and materials development to create innovations that solve for our athletes
Requirements
  • Hold a Degree in Design (Apparel, Industrial, or Textile Engineering)
  • Have 8+ years' hands-on experience designing functional apparel
  • Have advanced knowledge, skill, and ability in mentoring others on the design process, including patterning, sewing, and garment construction
  • Functional knitwear design experience would be appreciated
  • Have advanced technical and creative skills to pattern and prototype new products
  • Be an excellent team player with the ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision
  • Have hands-on experience creating tools and construction methods to assist in solving construction issues
  • Have excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Be technically proficient with 8 years' experience using Adobe Illustrator, Gerber, or an equivalent pattern software
  • Be proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • Remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • Effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • Inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
  • Have a strong passion for your work and a passion for getting outside and living it
  • Have a strong knowledge of Arc'teryx products and interest/involvement in activities Arc'teryx makes products for
Compensation

Arc'teryx Limited offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of CAD$104,000 - CAD$130,000 per year. The actual salary will be determined based on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training.
