Design Visionary for Women's Hike

At Arc'teryx, we're seeking a talented Women's Apparel Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you'll be responsible for creating innovative and expressive apparel solutions that align with our design vision for the Women's Hike product category.

About the Role
As a Women's Apparel Designer, you'll work closely with our design team to develop and execute product designs that meet the evolving needs of our guests. Your expertise in apparel design, combined with your passion for product innovation, will enable you to create solutions that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and execute assigned product designs within seasonal timelines to complement existing collections and future advanced R&D projects.
  • Demonstrate expression and style in key concepts through silhouette and fit grounded in function.
  • Contribute to the commercialization of innovative technologies, including materials, pattern/part shaping, and construction techniques for existing and product categories.
  • Create patterns, mockups, and prototypes to explore, resolve, or prove new concepts or construction techniques.
  • Provide detailed product initiations to Product Development, including spec drawings, pattern and fit direction, and material information.
  • Collaborate with the Fit & Pattern Team to resolve fit style and construction issues and ensure a fully commercialized product.
  • Coordinate with the Materials team to test new materials and ensure that necessary items are available for prototyping.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the materials and manufacturing techniques that Arc'teryx works with.
  • Collaborate closely with other Designers to bring new and better toolbox solutions that benefit the brand.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, collaborating with Arc'teryx athletes and other industry representatives to help ensure Arc'teryx is exceeding our guests' evolving needs.
  • Assist with current product design changes where necessary to address in-line production issues.
  • Support the Design Director in developing a schedule for the flow of the line plan through all development stages, including charting line plan progress.
  • Partner with Development Team Manager to gain visibility into cost estimates, MOQs, and LOM concerns throughout concepting and prototyping for seasonal products.
  • Present at internal meetings, design reviews, and seasonal stage gates, annual seasonal handoffs, and other product meetings as required.
  • Attend trade shows, company events, as well as sourcing and development vendor visits as required.

About You
We're looking for a talented and experienced Women's Apparel Designer who is passionate about product innovation and has a strong understanding of apparel design principles. If you have a degree in Apparel Design and 5+ years of hands-on experience designing products, preferably textile-based, we'd love to hear from you.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 CAD, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
