Computer Science Teaching Assistant

Brock University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Teaching Assistant for the COSC 4P14 course. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the course instructor and contributing to the delivery of an exceptional student experience.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the course instructor in preparing and delivering course materials, including seminar preparation and student consultation.
- Mark and grade assignments and exams, ensuring timely and accurate feedback to students.
- Proctor exams and attend lectures as required.
- Hold office hours and provide support to students outside of class time.
- Contribute to course administration, including maintaining accurate records and communicating with students.
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 80% in the course.
- Applicants must be at least a fourth-year student currently enrolled in Computer Science with a major average of 75%, or who have completed a Computer Science Degree.
- The successful applicant must have effective communication skills, including the ability to explain subject material to students, be punctual in attending classes, and meet appropriate deadlines.
Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications held by the employee. Employees who do not hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate, while those who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate.
In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant's duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
