The Maintenance Planner is a critical role within the Holcim organization, responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of our facilities. This position plays a key part in our overall business strategy, working closely with various departments to optimize maintenance activities and improve equipment availability.
Key Responsibilities- Health, Safety, and Environment: Demonstrate a commitment to safety policies and procedures, identifying and mitigating potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintenance Planning: Plan and prioritize maintenance activities, assigning resources and materials as needed to ensure timely completion.
- Maintenance Preparation: Ensure that all necessary equipment and permits are available before adding work to the plan, minimizing downtime and optimizing maintenance efficiency.
- Shutdowns: Support maintenance activities during major shutdowns, working closely with the shutdown planner to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
- Equipment Availability: Collaborate with production and inspection teams to assess priority and criticality of maintenance activities, ensuring optimal equipment availability.
- Scope of Work: Develop detailed scopes of work for major projects, identifying required skills and resources.
- Inventory Management: Generate and follow up on purchase requests for materials and spare parts, ensuring just-in-time delivery and optimal inventory levels.
- Equipment Catalogue: Maintain accurate and up-to-date equipment parts catalogues, ensuring a reliable reference tool for the entire plant.
- Maintenance Performance: Track and analyze maintenance statistics, ensuring productivity, housekeeping, and quality of work standards are maintained within the mechanical maintenance department.
- Maintenance Cost: Plan and optimize maintenance activities to minimize costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the maintenance team and operations group, ensuring optimal maintenance, reliability, and availability of equipment.
- Operational Meetings: Represent the maintenance team in operational meetings, determining maintenance priorities and optimizing maintenance during shutdown periods.
- Continual Improvement: Continuously review and evaluate methods, processes, tools, and equipment to optimize the maintenance function, implementing corrective measures for continuous improvement.
- Subcontractors: Plan and coordinate work carried out by third-party contractors, overseeing their activities to support maintenance efforts.
- Education: College degree in industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in a heavy industry, with experience in inspection and welding an asset.
- Skills: Strong computer skills, knowledge of problem-solving techniques, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
