Maintenance Planner

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operation of equipment and facilities. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Health, Safety, and Environment:
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, and identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Collaborate with the Environment team to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies.
- Maintenance Planning:
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, including scheduling and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
- Maintenance Preparation:
- Ensure that maintenance activities are properly planned and executed, including obtaining necessary permits and resources.
- Shutdowns:
- Support maintenance activities during shutdowns, including planning and coordination.
- Equipment Availability:
- Contribute to the reliability of equipment by reviewing maintenance requests and collaborating with production and inspectors.
- Scope of Work:
- Develop detailed scopes of work for major maintenance activities.
- Inventory:
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels without compromising plant reliability or maintenance efficiency.
- Equipment Catalogue:
- Ensure that the equipment parts catalog is up-to-date and accurate.
- Maintenance Performance:
- Track and analyze maintenance performance metrics, including repeat work, PM compliance, and equipment availability.
- Maintenance Cost:
- Plan and manage maintenance costs to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Communication:
- Act as the main point of contact between the maintenance team and operations group.
- Operational Meeting:
- Represent the maintenance team in operational meetings and determine maintenance priorities.
- Continual Improvement:
- Continuously review and evaluate maintenance processes and procedures to optimize maintenance efficiency.
- Education and Experience:
- College degree in industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy industry, with experience in inspection and welding an asset.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong computer skills, including experience with Computerized Maintenance Systems (CMS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
