English Language Learning Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English Language Learning (ELL) teacher to join our team at the Abbotsford School District. As an itinerant ELL teacher, you will work directly with English language learners at assigned elementary, middle, and/or secondary schools, providing support and instruction to help them succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Generate AIPs using appropriate testing materials such as IPT or BC ELL Standards
- Model culturally responsive teaching and support English language learners with inquiry-based learning
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement effective ELL instructional strategies
- Provide professional development and support to teachers on ELL best practices
- Build connections and present to stakeholders, including school-based teams, District departments, parents, and community services
- Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate from an accredited program
- Abbotsford Academic English Language Program certification
- Training and experience administering and interpreting IPT Assessments
- Experience teaching ELL learners at the elementary, middle, or secondary school levels
- Experience using technology to facilitate language acquisition
- Experience with the blended model of instruction to support English language acquisition
- Experience implementing the full cycle of teacher collaboration (leading collaboration meetings, Co-teaching, co-assessing, co-planning)
