As a Welder Fitter, you will be responsible for interpreting welding process specifications, reading and interpreting welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes, and ensuring that welds meet standards and/or specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret welding process specifications and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes.
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment, brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal components using various welding techniques, including gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW).
  • Determine weldability of materials and operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
  • Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field of employment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye co-ordination.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
