Housekeeping Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at Airport Inn. As a key member of our housekeeping team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire and Train Staff: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of cleaning staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Inspect and Maintain Facilities: Conduct regular inspections of our facilities to ensure they meet our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Coordinate Work Activities: Plan and coordinate the work activities of our housekeeping team to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Recommend Services: Identify and recommend additional services required to maintain our facilities, such as painting, repair work, or replacement of furnishings and equipment.
  • Assist Cleaners: Provide support and assistance to our cleaning staff as needed to ensure they have the resources they need to perform their duties.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a housekeeping or facilities management role.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Combination of Sitting, Standing, and Walking: The successful candidate will be required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Standing for Extended Periods: The successful candidate will be required to stand for extended periods, including during inspections and when supervising staff.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: The successful candidate will participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Support Foreign Credential Recognition: The successful candidate will support newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
Support for Youths:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: The successful candidate will participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Participate in Government or Community Programs: The successful candidate will participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
  • Provide Cultural Competency Training: The successful candidate will provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
