Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at Hamilton Health Sciences. As a key member of our Diagnostic Services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional clerical and administrative support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely scheduling of diagnostic services for patients
  • Manage and maintain accurate patient records and registration information
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to resolve scheduling conflicts and issues
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in registration and Community Wide Scheduling systems

Requirements

  • Graduate of a community college secretarial/medical office administration program or 2-3 years of recent relevant medical office experience
  • Previous experience in a Diagnostic Services environment
  • Demonstrated Medical Terminology related to Diagnostic Services
  • Demonstrated proficiency in registration and Community Wide Scheduling systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in using computers, MS Windows, Outlook, Word
  • Demonstrated proficiency in keyboarding and typing skills (minimum 40 wpm)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team both verbally and written
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality policies
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently
  • Minimum 1-year previous booking experience preferred
  • Meditech Magic and Meditech ITS experience preferred
  • Medical Terminology, computer, and typing skills will be tested
