Job Title: Microbiology Lab Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Microbiology Lab Technician to join our team at Apex Systems. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for conducting microbiological tests, analyzing data, and reporting results in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Preparation: Prepare media, samples, and reagents used in testing.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Prepare, sterilize, sanitize, calibrate, and validate equipment used for microbial testing.
  • Testing: Conduct and track microbial efficacy tests against various bacteria, spores, fungi, and mycobacteria using standardized test methods.
  • Documentation: Provide detailed, accurate, and up-to-date records of test results. Maintain and update relevant documentation.
  • Investigations and Troubleshooting: Participate in required investigations and troubleshooting initiatives.
  • Additional Tasks: Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in the Microbiology field.
  • Skills: Ability to maintain a safe work environment and follow directions. Proficiency in aseptic technique and Good Documentation Practice (GDP). Strong attention to detail and precision in performing experiments. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication and coordination skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
