Job Summary

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is seeking a qualified Educational Assistant to provide support to students with special needs in our schools. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic, physical, and emotional support to students with exceptional needs
  • Work with students who have physical and intellectual disabilities, behavioral or other learning difficulties
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and successful learning experience
Requirements
  • Relevant training in areas such as non-violent crisis intervention and conflict resolution
  • Experience working with students with special needs and those who exhibit severe behavioral or emotional difficulties
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • College diploma in a related field or university degree
  • 2 years of prior experience working with students with special needs
