Job Title: Cost Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team at Grant Home Hardware Building Centres. As a Cost Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate estimates of labour and material costs for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Develop and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures to ensure accurate estimates
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in estimating or a related field
  • Excellent oral communication and client focus skills
  • Organized and team player with strong computer and technology skills
