Job Title: Cost Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team at Grant Home Hardware Building Centres. As a Cost Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in estimating or a related field
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
  • Proficiency in estimating software and spreadsheets
