Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team at Grant Home Hardware Building Centres. As a Cost Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs for residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and/or material costs for residential construction projects
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Utilize quantity take-off procedures and estimating packages
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in residential construction estimating
  • Excellent oral communication and client focus skills
  • Organized and team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in estimating packages and spreadsheet software
