Teaching Opportunity at Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf

We are seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf to join our team at Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf in Milton. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Deaf students in a secondary program and will have the opportunity to work with a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Deaf students in a secondary program
  • Develop and modify lesson plans to effectively teach Deaf students
  • Create Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the needs of Deaf students
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to support Deaf students
  • Have a strong understanding of bilingual-biliteracy-bicultural education for Deaf students
Requirements:
  • Valid Certificate of Registration and Qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Deaf Specialist/Teaching Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing qualification
  • Intermediate/Senior Division qualifications required
  • Senior Sciences, Math or English qualifications preferred
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
