About the Role

Dawson Road Maintenance is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. As a journeyman mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of heavy-duty equipment and trucks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Safely perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs
  2. Adhere to all policies and procedures
  3. Prioritize a safe working environment
  4. Liaise with management to ensure a smooth flow of communication during repairs or maintenance work
  5. Always strive to exceed industry standard by providing quality workmanship
  6. Perform daily bay inspections to ensure shop neatness/cleanliness, and safety
  7. Work closely as a team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently
  8. Effectively work in all weather conditions and have the flexibility to work shift work if necessary

Requirements

  1. Apprentice 4th year or Journeyman Certificate in Heavy Duty or Commercial Transport Mechanic
  2. Experience and/or certification in Automotive Mechanic is an asset
  3. Preferably Grade 12 education; and up-to-date technical knowledge acquired through trade-related courses since achieving TQ certification
  4. B.C Drivers License, minimum Class 5. Class 3 with Air is an asset
  5. CVIP Inspection license is preferred, or willingness to acquire
  6. Welding experience is an asset
  7. Capable of performing heavy physical duties
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  9. Prioritizes safety of self and team
