Job Title: IT Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Specialist to join our team at the Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN). As a key member of our IT department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficiency of our organization's IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows & Linux-based servers.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server configurations for performance and security.
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
  • Manage web server configurations, including virtual hosts, SSL certificates, and security.
  • Assist with administering Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and other associated applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement and support Office 365 integrations with other business applications.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and training within the IT team.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to end-users as needed.
  • Resolve support tickets from staff promptly.
  • Provision and configure equipment and software for staff.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Office 365 services and administration tools, with a track record of managing user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
  • Knowledge and experience with Cyber Security Technologies and best practices would be an asset.
  • Some experience as a Systems Administrator with a focus on Linux and Nginx and Office 365 administration would be considered an asset.
  • Some experience in Linux server administration, including shell scripting, package management, and system troubleshooting, would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and virtualization technologies would be considered an asset.
  • Any relevant certifications or diplomas would be considered an asset.
