Medical Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Director to join our team at the City of New York. As a key member of our Office of School Health, you will be responsible for promoting the health and well-being of the city's 1.3 million school children.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage a team of School Health Physicians to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to students.
- Develop and implement policies and protocols to promote the health and wellness of students, in collaboration with the Deputy Medical Director and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with school administrators, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement school-based health programs.
- Utilize the Automated Student Health Record (ASHR) to maintain accurate and up-to-date student health records.
- Provide medical consultation and guidance to school administrators and staff on health-related matters.
- Support the development of school-based health education programs and initiatives.
- Valid license to practice medicine in the State of New York.
- Board Certification in a relevant specialty area, or eligibility for certification.
- At least one year of experience practicing in the specialty area, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Master's degree in Public Health, or equivalent degree, including or supplemented by graduate credits in epidemiology and biostatistics.
- At least two years of experience in the practice of epidemiology, or equivalent experience in a related field.
