The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Librarian to join our team. As a key member of our library staff, you will be responsible for providing professional library services to our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide information and research services to patrons, including reference and readers' advisory
- Develop and maintain collections of books, media, and other materials
- Plan and deliver programs and services for children, youth, and adults
- Collaborate with other library staff and community partners to promote literacy and lifelong learning
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in library services
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 6 months of related experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced library environment and may be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Language RequirementsThe successful candidate must be fluent in both English and French, with the ability to communicate effectively with patrons and staff in both languages.
