Residence Desk Porter

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Residence Desk Porter to join our team at the University of Guelph. As a key member of our Facilities and Desk Services team, you will provide exceptional service to residence students and university visitors, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Key Responsibilities- Provide information and referrals to students and visitors, directing them to appropriate resources on campus.
- Manage work orders and dispatch Residence Life staff to respond to situations.
- Monitor building security and ensure the safety of residence students and staff.
- Provide services at the residence desk, including check-in/check-out, key sign-out, and equipment sign-out.
- Assist with summer conference and desk duties, including registration and room preparation.
- Perform facilities materials handling tasks, including moving equipment and materials.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Considerable experience dealing with the public.
- A valid driver's license.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using Excel, MSWord, and the University's resources.
