We are seeking a Career Guidance Specialist to join our team at M'Chigeeng First Nation. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $58,046 - $70,916 per year.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide employment and training program supports and assistance based on individual needs with an end goal of finding meaningful employment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing counselling and assessment procedures to identify long and short term goals, and making appropriate referrals;
  • Working with clients to develop job search skills and career action plans;
  • Developing annual work plans to include professional development;
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times and ensuring compliance with MFN personnel policy;
  • Providing file and case management for tracking client needs and progress;

This role also involves assessing client and community needs in collaboration with Training Hub Centre staff for the coordination and facilitation of workshops, information sessions, and training workshops. The ideal candidate will have experience working directly with individuals in the employment and training counselling services and knowledge of Aboriginal specific employment & training needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of two years' work experience in counselling, workshop design, delivery, and facilitation. A preferred post-secondary degree or diploma in Social Work, Native Human Services, or a related field is also essential. Additionally, you must have excellent research and analytical skills, advanced word processing and internet usage, and high proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
