Job Summary

The British Columbia Institute of Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Donor Relations Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising and stewardship strategies to raise donations and deliver exceptional donor stewardship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies: Develop and implement a stewardship program that effectively supports building of long-term relationships with donors.
  • Plan and Execute Fundraising Appeals: Plan and execute fundraising appeals, including managing project timelines, identifying target audiences, and evaluating the effectiveness of appeals.
  • Collaborate with Development Team: Participate in annual goal setting for the development team, developing and implementing fundraising and stewardship deliverables.
  • Lead Recognition and Stewardship Initiatives: Lead the coordination and maintenance of the Foundation's recognition library, stewardship matrix, and recognition style guides.
  • Provide Donor Stewardship: Provide high-quality donor stewardship through timely appreciation calls, cultivation activities, and follow-ups.
  • Build Relationships with Internal Stakeholders: Build relationships with internal stakeholders to help connect and further deepen the relationships with donors.
  • Coordinate Events and Activities: Lead the planning and execution of donor recognition events, including developing event plans, budgets, agendas, and themes.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of two years post-secondary education or Diploma of Technology in the areas of marketing and communications, fund raising, or business administration.
  • Experience: Two years general experience plus four years' experience in a similar position inside or outside the institute, including specific experience in fundraising and special event planning and coordination.
  • Software and Computer Applications: MS Office with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at the intermediate level, and experience with Raiser's Edge, NXT an asset.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and experience in preparing and delivering presentations to internal and external groups.
