Job Title: Youth Peer Support Specialist

WoodGreen is seeking a Youth Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a peer support specialist, you will work with youth aged 16-29 who are struggling with complex mental health and substance use issues. You will provide one-on-one support, guidance, and mentorship to help youth achieve their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide short-term, one-on-one support to youth in a safe and non-judgmental environment
  • Draw on your personal experience of mental health and addiction to build trust and establish a working relationship with youth
  • Support youth in creating and achieving their recovery plans
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive support to youth
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field
  • Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) certificate or other peer support training
  • Personal experience with mental health and/or addiction and established recovery
  • One-year experience in a peer support role
