Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Business Partner to join our team at Miller Paving Limited (HO). As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in supporting the business by providing strategic HR guidance and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Workforce Planning
    Develop and implement workforce plans that align with business objectives, working closely with division leaders to translate business needs into short, medium, and long-range plans.
  2. Talent Attraction, Recruitment & Selection
    Evaluate recruitment needs and develop competency-based interviewing and scoring frameworks to ensure the best candidates are selected for key roles.
  3. Onboarding
    Design and implement role-specific onboarding plans to ensure new hires are integrated into the organization quickly and effectively.
  4. Employee Development
    Analyze talent evaluation and performance reviews to identify high potentials and high performers, and provide coaching and support to managers to develop their teams.
  5. Retention & Engagement
    Work with employee committees to develop action plans that optimize strengths and alleviate deficiencies, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
  6. Employee Relations
    Provide guidance on employee investigations and ensure compliance with policies and contracts, working closely with external and internal support groups.
  7. Change Management
    Anticipate business challenges and adapt HR delivery to support change, ensuring compliance with legislated and contractual obligations.
  8. Corporate Governance
    Monitor compliance with company policies, code of ethics, and compensation philosophy, and present annual HR Dashboards to senior management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or diploma in Business Administration and/or a Human Resources related discipline.
  • HR designation is preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant HR work experience within a Human Resources department, with at least 5 years in an HR Generalist capacity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with HRIS.
  • Ability to influence, establish rapport, and work with a diverse group of senior management and staff.
  • Proven experience working with both structured and unstructured organizations and matrixed environments.
  • High energy, a strong work ethic, resilience, and versatility with a results orientation.
  • Knowledge and experience with Labor relations, employment standards, and human rights legislation.
  • Ability to travel.
