Billing Compliance Specialist

Osler, a leading business law firm, is seeking a skilled Billing Compliance Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and billing, with a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine appropriate rates for clients and matters, ensuring consistency with engagement letters and agreements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely setup and maintenance of client/matter rates and budgets in accounting systems and ebilling platforms.
  • Liaise with clients on rate submissions and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Implement client rate renewals and apply approved changes to timekeeper rates.
  • Liaise with the Pricing and Legal Project Management team to obtain new rates and client/matter agreements.
  • Expertly manage rates in Aderant, providing guidance to the Billing and e-Billing team.
  • Respond to routine questions and provide information on rates and special fee arrangements.
  • Maintain and update training documentation and recordings on billing rate and special fee arrangements.
  • Communicate effectively with peers, management, external vendors, and contacts at all levels of the organization.

Requirements:

  • College diploma or University Degree in a business discipline.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in finance, billing, or project management.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, efficient, and organized.
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in MS Office product suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Highly analytical problem solver with mastery of advanced data functions.
  • Knowledge of SQL is an asset.
  • Experience with ebilling platforms and accounting systems, such as Aderant or Elite.
  • Comfort with synthesizing large data sets and excellent communication skills.
