Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Developer to join our Global Trade Intelligence development team. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment and possess excellent database analysis, development, and deployment background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support databases in Microsoft SQL server database environment
  • Develop and maintain SQL and PL/SQL scripts
  • Expertise in Data Extract, Transform and Loading (ETL) using SSIS packages
  • Provide consulting and support to other developers in the following areas:
    • Effective utilization of data and database resources
    • Optimization of stored procedures and SSIS packages
    • Proficient in creating indexes, views, appropriate SQL functions and triggers
    • Tuning SQL queries and improving query performance
    • Create and maintain data dictionaries and database documentation
    • Troubleshoot database and SQL problems
    • Taking ownership and understanding business requirements

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience of 5+ years in an SQL Server DB Developer role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Applied knowledge of MS SQL Server tools, SSIS, Performance Tuning and Optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to create normalized database schemas utilizing data modeling discipline. Understanding of normalization, de-normalization, and the difference between the two
  • Strong TRANSACT – SQL and PL/SQL skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the practical application of JSON and XML in SQL Server

Salary Range

$90,000 to $100,000 CAD
