LPN, Medical Unit – Infectious Disease Specialist

Providence Health Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Unit team, specializing in Infectious Disease care. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary clinical team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients and residents with complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities- Provides safe and respectful nursing care to an assigned group of patients/residents, according to established policies and procedures.
- Conducts head-to-toe assessments, monitors and recognizes abnormal signs or symptoms, and communicates with the RN/RPN as required.
- Documents care provided, including assessments, status, progress, treatments, changes in condition, medications administered, and discharge planning.
- Administers medications, including narcotics and excluding intravenous route, according to established procedures.
- Responds to a variety of incidents, such as Codes, injuries or falls, hazardous spills, aggressive behavior, and fire alarms.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Current basic cardiac life support certification.
