About the Opportunity

We are seeking a part-time pediatrician to join our team at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, Nova Scotia. As a pediatrician with this role, you will provide consulting care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, working closely with satellite clinics in Lunenburg and Bridgewater.

The hospital serves the people of Kings and Annapolis Counties, providing specialty services as a referral centre for the Annapolis Valley and surrounding areas. Located in Kentville, Valley Regional Hospital is a 120-bed facility that offers inpatient, outpatient, and satellite care to approximately 80,000 residents.

Responsibilities
  • You will work as a full scope of practice pediatrician, providing care to patients within Western Zone.
  • You will participate in call shifts and support Nova Scotia Health in advancing the delivery of pediatric care by liaising with applicable staff within the zone and province.
  • You will offer consultation support to Western Zone, including day-time coverage and participation in a call rota for overnight/weekend coverage.
  • You will be accountable to the patient population in Western Zone by providing clinics and occasional satellite clinics.
  • You will be responsible to the Zone Pediatrics Department Head for your professional responsibilities and quality of practice.
Expected Hours

You will work 0.5 FTE with an on-call schedule.

Qualifications
  • You must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
  • You must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • You must hold membership with the Canadian Paediatric Society.
Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this role is between $250,000 and $350,000 per year, depending on experience.
