Job Description

KZenEdge Strategic Program Execution is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Business Analyst to join our team for the Infrastructure Asset Inventory Procurement and Implementation project.

Project Overview

The Ministry of Infrastructure plans, manages, and controls a significant real estate portfolio on behalf of the Government of Alberta. The Infrastructure Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) Program aims to deliver an asset lifecycle management solution that will replace current legacy applications supporting the ALM Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead consultations and facilitate stakeholder meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Create business requirements, functional specifications, and technical requirements to drive project delivery.
  • Develop new business and technical processes, and complete business process reviews/re-engineering for existing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate business process improvement sessions to engage stakeholders and drive change.
  • Assist in the development of new IT services to support business needs.
  • Schedule, organize, and lead project status meetings and other meetings as required to ensure project progress and stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide support by bridging communication between vendors, client ministries, and corporate technical and business teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Escalate unresolved issues/risks, options, and recommendations to ensure project success.
  • Responsible for business architecture design, software system specifications design, and database modeling to ensure project deliverables meet business requirements.
  • Participate in iterative development using model-based processes to drive project delivery.
  • Perform project management, business, and technical analysis, and systems design to deliver complex software solutions spanning n-tier development environments.
  • Produce project artifacts with XML, UML, and/or other web-services technologies to ensure project deliverables meet business requirements.
  • Prepare, update, and manage documents defining business requirements, software requirements, functional design, and project plans and schedules reflecting achievable deliverables for the applications.
  • Prepare regular project status reports indicating project deliverables, possible risk and issues, timelines, and anticipated effort to ensure stakeholder engagement and project progress.
  • Ensure appropriate project communication occurs to all parties involved during all phases of the project.
  • Identify required user training to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Additional responsibilities as required by the Project Manager for a Business Analyst or Lead Technical Analyst role.
Deliverables

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the following:

  • Support development of project deliverables, including requirements gathering and process documentation to meet project milestones.
  • Support Project Management status and financial reports and schedules as required.
  • Support business needs by ensuring that project delivery is in alignment with business/technical requirements and application development.
  • Analyze organization or business domain and document the business, processes, systems, assessing the business model or its integration with technology.
  • Leading workshops and User Acceptance Testing during the development of business applications.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have:

  • 8 years of experience as a business analyst translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements in an enterprise IT environment.
  • 5 years of experience in developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements.
  • 8 years of experience in facilitating meetings and communicating with senior management and project stakeholders.
  • 8 years of experience in gathering requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders across ministries or departments.
  • 8 years of experience with written and verbal communications, including specific experience in drafting strategic business and technical documentation.

  • 5 years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of complex IT solutions.
  • 8 years of experience in the development of project documents for a wide variety of initiatives and projects (strategic, business improvement, information technology, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience with development and implementation of content management, document management, records management, information management processes in applications.
  • 4 years of experience with IT service management, IT service management applications, IT application development and maintenance projects.
  • 5 years of experience with User Acceptance Testing processes on large, complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • 2 years of experience working in or for the public sector.
  • 5 years of experience working within an agile development environment.
