CMHC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst, Risk to join our Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) team. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert advice and guidance to senior management and colleagues on the application and interpretation of the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of requests for information under the legislation, including triaging incoming requests, coordinating the gathering of relevant records, applying redactions, and signing letters.
- Protect the Corporation from potential and actual negative reputational and financial impacts associated with any improper release of CMHC's business information and personal information.
- Manage and prioritize a high volume of files under tight timelines, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
- Apply analytical skills, judgment, discretion, and a thorough knowledge of CMHC activities to assess requests within legislative timelines, identify potential impacts, and ensure internal and external stakeholders are well supported, and risks are managed appropriately.
- Review applicable policies and jurisprudence to assess the appropriate release of information within prescribed timelines.
- Conduct research of case precedents, legislation, policies, guidelines, and positions taken by other federal institutions, provincial governments, central agencies, as well as those taken by the Information and Privacy Commissioners to develop advice and recommendations on a wide range of ATIP matters.
- Manage complaint files with Offices of the Information and Privacy Commissioners, review, recommend, and prepare written justification in defense of CMHC's decision-making process and legislative interpretation regarding disclosure and exemptions applied.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for employees on ATIP, and in doing so, adjust training materials to suit the audience needs and level of knowledge.
- A post-secondary education in business administration or another related field.
- A comprehensive knowledge of the federal Access to Information Act and Privacy Act, including regulations, policies, and case precedents.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Corporate business lines and operations.
- Bilingualism (English and French).
