Job Title: Residential Building Architect

We are seeking a skilled Residential Building Architect to join our team at SJ Construction. As a Residential Building Architect, you will be responsible for designing and developing building plans and detailed drawings for residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop building plans and detailed drawings for residential construction projects
  • Consult with clients to determine the type, style, and purpose of renovations or new building construction
  • Generate building plans and detailed drawings to be used by contractors and tradespersons
  • Prepare documents showing both the structural needs and the materials required for construction
  • Work in limiting factors, such as town planning laws and environmental impact assessments
  • Conceptualize and design buildings and develop plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs, and construction schedules
  • Prepare sketches and models
  • Proposal preparation
  • Write plans describing project specifications and construction schedules
  • Interior design (general)
  • Assist skilled tradespersons
Requirements:
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Architectural software programs
