Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Nurse to join our team at Sinai Health. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our surgical programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Facilitate the clinical needs of surgeons and anesthesia in the operating room
  • Effectively manage workload and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Anticipate and address rapidly changing situations
  • Document observations, assessments, and care provision
  • Maintain clinical competence and knowledge base through continued education and lifelong learning

Requirements

  • Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Graduate of a CNO-approved bachelor's degree in nursing program, or equivalent combined education and experience
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Successful completion of a postgraduate Perioperative Nursing Certificate program or commitment to complete certificate within 3 years from hire date

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years' experience in a perioperative setting
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
