About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Ground & Rail Procurement Professional to join our team at CEVA Logistics AG. As a key member of our Ground & Rail Logistics team, you will be responsible for negotiating with Ground & Rail carriers to source and secure the most competitive rates and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrier Relationship Management
    • Identify and manage relationships with Ground & Rail suppliers, contracts, and negotiate terms and conditions.
    • Maintain SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Strategy Development
    • Develop and implement tenders for Ground & Rail operations to secure competitive rates for specific trade lanes.
    • Present strategy and industry trend background information to upper management for approval.
  • Contract Management
    • Prepare and file contracts internally, ensuring all applicable steps are taken.
    • Utilize and automate internal systems to retrieve current and benchmark requests for new Ground & Rail rates.
  • Carrier Spend Tracking and Strategy
    • Complete carrier spend tracking and global carrier strategy projects in a timely manner.
    • Become a Subject Matter Expert in area of responsibility for relevant industry trends.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Function as lead to other analysts and specialists in the department.
    • Monitor KPIs, market dynamics, and competitor pricing strategies to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Minimum 5 to 7 years of job-related experience.
    • In-depth knowledge of the Ground & Rail products line and services.
    • Experience in strategy development of competitive rates for specific trade lanes.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong financial analytical skills with experience in performing quantitative statistical analysis.
    • Advanced proficiency in web-based and specific job-related software applications.
    • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other related discipline.
    • Minimum 4 years of industry experience in procurement or sourcing of transport, logistics, or supply chain management.
