About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Negotiator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for negotiating with Ground and Rail carriers to secure the most competitive rates and services. You will work closely with internal and external customers to provide solutions and complete related carrier strategy and tracking projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate with Ground and Rail carriers to secure competitive rates and services
  • Develop and implement carrier strategies to optimize rates and services
  • Present carrier strategies and rate recommendations to upper management
  • Manage carrier relationships and contracts, including negotiating terms and conditions
  • Utilize internal systems to retrieve current and benchmark requests for new Ground and Rail rates
  • Complete carrier spend tracking and global carrier strategy projects
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor actions
  • Prepare and update carrier profiles and matrix reports
  • Function as a lead to other analysts and specialists in the department
  • Monitor KPIs and market dynamics to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry trends and competitor actions
  • Strong financial analytical skills and experience with quantitative statistical analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and web-based software applications
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead others
  • Positive, competitive, and confident personality with strong persuasive skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline
  • Minimum 5-7 years of job-related experience
  • Experience in strategy development and contract preparation
