**Job Summary:** Negotiate with Ground & Rail carriers to secure competitive rates and services, provide solutions to internal and external customers, and lead a team of analysts and specialists.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Negotiate with Ground & Rail carriers to secure competitive rates and services
  • Develop and implement carrier strategies to secure most competitive rates for specific trade lanes
  • Present strategy and rate information to upper management for approval
  • Prepare and file contracts, and utilize internal systems to retrieve current and benchmark requests for new Ground & Rail rates
  • Complete carrier spend tracking and global carrier strategy projects in a timely manner
  • Monitor KPI's, market dynamics, and competitor pricing strategies to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement

**Requirements:**

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends, including carrier rate actions, general rate increases, and fuels that influence rates
  • Strong financial analytical skills, with experience in performing quantitative statistical analysis and mathematical models
  • Advanced proficiency in web-based and specific job-related software applications, including MS Excel and SQL
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse backgrounds and lead, mentor, and coach other analysts and specialists

**Minimum Qualifications:**

  • 5-7 years of job-related experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Ground & Rail products and services
  • Experience in strategy development of competitive rates for specific trade lanes
  • Familiarity with internal systems to retrieve current and benchmark requests for new Ground & Rail rates

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of work experience and education
  • Minimum 4 years of industry experience in procurement or sourcing of transport, logistics, or supply chain management
