Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing estimates for various construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-8 years of estimating experience, with a strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare quotes and design proposals for management.
  • Identify and select qualified subcontractors and solicit competitive pricing for tenders.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of tender drawings, commenting on design, scheduling, cost savings, and potential construction problems.
  • Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal, tender walk, conferences, and site visits.
  • Develop and review subcontractor scope of work and accept, review, and analyze contractor quotes for the best value.
  • Maintain good relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Maintain Master Tender List and ensure up-to-date trade information.
  • Coordinate and present bids in a timely and organized manner to management.
  • Present cost estimates to meet customer proposals, considering general and extraordinary conditions.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience, as well as comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of estimating experience.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Experience in construction estimating and bidding for general contract work.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in project management or construction supervision a plus.

Work Environment

Our office is located in Calgary, ON, and the position requires frequent travel to construction sites.
