At Sparkling Hill Resort, we are seeking a highly skilled Restaurant Director to lead our food service operations. This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week with the opportunity for overtime.

About the Role

The Restaurant Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus group insurance benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze budget to boost and maintain the restaurant's profits
  • Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies
  • Evaluate daily operations and implement changes as necessary
  • Monitor revenues to determine labour cost and make adjustments accordingly
  • Supervise staff and provide training as needed
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
  • Conduct performance reviews and make recommendations for improvement
  • Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
  • Participate in marketing plans and implementation
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required; degree or diploma in hospitality or related field an asset
  • 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role in the food service industry
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads
