Job Title: Butcher - Retail or Wholesale

We are seeking a skilled Butcher to join our team at Spice Meat Shop & Eatery (#2) Limited. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing standard cuts of meat, as well as wrapping and packaging prepared meats.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and prepare meat for processing or cutting
  • Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat
  • Wrap and package prepared meats
  • Remove bones from meat
  • Weigh meats for sale
  • Cut poultry into parts
  • Price meat products
  • Clean and prepare fish and shellfish
  • Sell meats to customers
  • Cut fish into steaks and fillets
  • Supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers
  • Grind meats
  • Train meat cutters
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood
  • Prepare special orders
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
  • Accurate and organized with a client-focused approach
  • Flexibility and initiative
  • Ability to work as part of a team
