Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health System Strategist to join our team. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of healthcare delivery within our organization.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will leverage your deep understanding of health systems, policy, and best practices to develop and implement innovative strategies that enhance patient care, optimize resource allocation, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans aligned with organizational goals and priorities, ensuring a focus on quality, safety, and patient-centered care.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of current and emerging healthcare trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, government agencies, and community partners, to foster a collaborative and integrated approach to healthcare delivery.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement by implementing evidence-based quality improvement methodologies and promoting data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols that support the organization's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to staff members, fostering a culture of professional growth and development.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strong leadership skills, strategic thinking abilities, and in-depth knowledge of the healthcare landscape.

  • Master's degree or higher in Health Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in health system planning, strategy development, and implementation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quality improvement methodologies, patient safety principles, and accreditation standards.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, analyze data effectively, and make sound decisions under pressure.
